Just couldn't take it any longer, the half basement is going to take time to finish before I can start my 180G project, so today I was down at House of Tropics just looking around and a total impulse came over me and I picked up a 60 gallon rimless tank with a stand. Just placed my first order for sand, going for 3"-4" sandbed. So the first order is for a 180lbs of sand. Once the tank is ready for sand, I'll add it and see where that leaves me.

Next is to start looking how the refugium/skimmer is going to work out and start the plumbing. I already have several ideas floating around but first I'll see what I have, what fits and go from there. Tomorrow I'll start pulling out my saltwater storage boxes and start sifting through them.

Been looking around for new lighting and LED seems to be the new thing. My old lighting was for my old 75G so the configuration won't work with the 60G cube plus I would have to find a way to hang it, with the LED light, I could mount on the back of the new tank. Reviews for the light are showing positive too plus I googled the light to see examples of the light in use and it looks good.

Let me know if anyone has any feedback on this product or with the manufacture.

check out the marsaqua 165watt blackbox led's you would need 2 to get a good spread and they need to be hung.at less than $200 for both and double the watts and par.they grow corals out of the tank as well.i think more than half of our members use some form of these inexpensive lights.check them out on ebay and amazon.
