I've read up on some forums and decided to give it a run. I'm trying a batch from this vendor at the moment. I'll let you know how it works out.
www.payless-petproducts.com/fluconazole200.html

Dosage rate: 100mg per 10 gallons (or one 200mg capsule per 20 gallons); open and empty the capsule into a filter sock or some such to help dissolve the fluconazole.

Cheers,
Ray

B) It's been in the water for a few days now; just waiting for results. The expectation is around the two-week mark it should have taken full effect. We'll see. No adverse reactions so far. Hard and soft coral don't seem to care, fish are ambivalent, and the crusteceans are, well, crusty. It's basically a fungicide.
"Algae Buster is a fluconazole-based additive that attacks nuisance algae at the cellular level. The algae species affected by Algae Buster contain ergosterol, a sterol similar to cholesterol in humans that maintains cell wall integrity. Algae Buster prevents the conversion of lanosterol into ergosterol, which essentially "melts" the algae by compromising the integrity of its cell walls."
We'll see how it works.
Cheers,
Ray
